It is known as caraway seeds in English and Ugragandha in Sanskrit. The plant is mainly cultivated in Iran and India. The seeds have a bitter and pungent flavour and often added to curries and pickles. Ajwain seeds are rich in fibre, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. Ajwain seeds help relieve acidity and indigestion, common cold, ear and toothache, is used for cleaning wounds and stop greying of Hair. It eases pain due to arthritis.
